Athena is one of the most well-known Greek goddesses. She is known as a compassionate and benevolent goddess. She was strong, fair, merciful and independent. Athena was never married and had no children (Source). She was the goddess of reason, intelligent activity, arts, and literature and crafts. (Source) She became the goddess of war because the community she live in was military based. At times, she fought alongside Greek heroes in war. She was also called ATHENE and ATHINA and one of the most interesting myths is about her birth. She had no living mother, and was born full-grown and armed with weapons, straight out of her father, Zeus' head!!! Some have written that Metis, Zeus' first wife, was pregnant with Athena when Zeus ate her and then eventually got a headache (maybe it was the first migraine in history !?!), and gave birth to Athena (Source) Click the links or watch the video to learn more.
